Domestic Violence effects every one of every demographic. According to national statistics, an estimated 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime. An estimated 1 in 15 children are exposed to intimate partner violence each year, and 90% of these children are eyewitnesses to this violence.
Knowledge is Power. We want to share this important information so that we may bring about a more informed public within our region, thus empowering community members to spread awareness and support for the cause. Learn from the resources below and feel free to share them with friends and family.

DVR Membership Application
If you're interested in joining DVR, please fill out the attached form and submit it to our email- domesticviolenceroundtable@gmail.com. If you wish to join as a voting member, a dues fee is required and can be mailed along with your copy of the form to the mailing address listed at the bottom of the application form. If you wish to become an associate member, there is no dues fee required. We have hybrid meetings on the second Wednesday of every month at the Columbus Public Library, on Macon Rd in Columbus, GA. The Zoom link is on the Events Calendar Page of this website.

One Love Foundation is a national non-profit organization with the goal of ending relationship abuse. They aim to educate individuals, raise awareness through knowledge, and mobilize millions in order to empower young people with the tools and resources they need to see the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and bring life-saving prevention education to their communities.

The Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (GCADV) is Georgia’s federally recognized domestic violence coalition, representing over 53 domestic violence organizations and programs across the state. GCADV envisions a Georgia free of domestic violence.

Love is Respect offers 24/7 information, support, and advocacy to young people between the ages of 13 and 26 who have questions or concerns about their romantic relationships. They provide comprehensive education through resources including quizzes, interactive pages, and testimonials, as well as training, toolkits, and curriculum for educators, peers, and parents to promote healthy relationships and prevent future abuse.

It is Hope Harbour's vision to be the lifeline for victims and survivors of family violence. Hope Harbour provides emergency shelter, safety, crisis intervention, and advocacy for adults and children who are victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Break The Cycle actively works to raise awareness about domestic violence in all of its forms, challenging societal norms and stereotypes that often hinder the recognition and support of all victims. Through their dedicated efforts in prevention, intervention, and policy advocacy, we strive to create a future where domestic violence is a relic of the past, and every individual has the opportunity to lead a life free from abuse and fear.
